Trailer and Poster Tease Intense Power Struggle

The anticipation for the second part of the Netflix original series The Empress Woo is building as a new trailer and poster have been released.

Scheduled for release on Thursday, the 12th at 12 PM, Part 2 will delve into Empress Woo-hee's next moves as she continues to compete for the throne.

The high-quality production is directed by Jung Se-kyo, written by Lee Byung-hak, and produced by Andmark Studio, Compass Pictures, and CJ ENM Studios.

In Part 1 of The Empress Woo, viewers witnessed Empress Woo-hee's dangerous journey beyond the palace following the sudden death of the king.
Her plan to elevate another prince to the throne, bypassing the violent third prince Go Bal-gi, hit unexpected obstacles.

The thrilling scenes where Woo-hee outwitted the pursuing White Tiger Tribe to survive heightened the tension.

The newly released trailer for Part 2 promises an even fiercer battle for power.

As Woo-hee continues to fight alongside her loyal ally, Prime Minister Eul Paso, she enters the domain of the fourth prince, Go Yeon-woo (played by Kang Young-seok), who is backed by the high priest. Woo-hee’s determination is evident as she wields weapons like swords and bows, signaling her resolve to fight back.

Additionally, Woo-hee’s sister, Woo-soon, who covets the title of empress, and Go Bal-gi’s growing ambition for the throne, intensify the stakes.
Woo-hee's line, "Now I will show you what I can do," indicates her shift from mere survival to actively joining the power struggle.

The poster for Part 2 showcases six central characters at the heart of the power conflict, piquing viewers’ curiosity.
Wearing armor instead of her regal attire, Woo-hee is shown drawing a bow, symbolizing her transformation into a stronger character. This visual suggests the significant growth of her character as she fights for survival.

In the poster, Empress Woo-hee is surrounded by King Go Nam-mu, who met a suspicious death, her loyal ally Prime Minister Eul Paso, the ruthless third prince Go Bal-gi, her sister Woo-soon who seeks to claim the throne, and the royal commander Moo-gol.
The intricate relationships between these characters set the stage for the upcoming drama, leaving viewers wondering who will emerge as friends or foes to Woo-hee.

The Empress Woo is more than a traditional historical drama.

It explores themes of power, survival, and human nature in depth. The series stands out for centering on a strong female lead. Woo-hee’s departure from her role as empress to engage in battle is a radical departure from conventional portrayals of women in historical dramas, resonating with modern audiences.

Furthermore, The Empress Woo is noteworthy for its fantasy elements, set against the backdrop of Goguryeo.

While based on historical facts, the series builds a new world through creative imagination, appealing to both fans of traditional historical dramas and fantasy genres.

In Part 2, Woo-hee’s survival journey will intensify.

How she navigates palace conspiracies, power struggles, and external threats will be a key focal point. As hidden motives and secrets of the characters are revealed, the plot is expected to become even more complex and engaging.

The Empress Woo Part 2 will be exclusively available on Netflix from 12 PM on the 12th.

With its stellar cast, strong storyline, and high production quality, expectations are high for how the story will unfold.

As Woo-hee and the other characters fight for power and survival, all eyes will be on how their fates are determined in this intense game of thrones.
