NewJeans directly addressed the ongoing conflict between former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin and HYBE.
On the 11th, through an urgent live broadcast on their new YouTube channel 'nwjns', the members strongly demanded that HYBE reinstate Min Hee-jin as CEO.
The live broadcast was deleted shortly after it ended, and the YouTube account has since been closed.
Hyein explained the purpose of the live, saying, "Since the removal of CEO Min Hee-jin, it has been difficult to watch those we've worked with suffer under unfair demands and pressure."
She added, "We were worried about our future," emphasizing that the broadcast was prepared by the members’ own initiative.
Minji mentioned the trust they had built with Min Hee-jin, saying, "We have enjoyed working with the CEO since before our debut, and all the members feel the same."
She also expressed a critical view of ADOR's request to delete several music videos made by Dolphiners Films, which had worked on NewJeans’ major music videos.
"It was our dream to perform on stage with the music we to make with CEO Min, and we worked so hard for that.
Now, we can't do that, and we may not be able to fulfill the plans we had in place."
She also added, "If you truly care for us, don't just say you prioritize the artists—let us perform and make the music we love."
Hanni expressed frustration over external forces blocking them from working with the people who helped them grow.
"I want to continue working with the people who have nurtured me and helped me find life within myself.
But these outside forces keep interfering and blocking us, and I don't know if I should even try to understand this situation," she said, adding that she hopes the situation will be resolved quickly for the fans’ sake.
Hyein also expressed displeasure about learning of Min Hee-jin's dismissal through the news.
"As artists under HYBE, we were given a one-sided notice, which made it clear to us that the company doesn't respect us at all," she said.
Minji commented, "For half a year, unnecessary and exhausting stories about us have been ongoing, and as the people involved, we are deeply uncomfortable."
Danielle harshly criticized HYBE, stating, "Honestly, it's just sad. HYBE seems like an inhumane company. What are we supposed to learn from a company like this?"
In their final remarks, the members presented specific demands to HYBE.
Hyein said, "Please stop interfering any further. Bring back CEO Min and restore ADOR to what it was before."
Minji concluded, "If our voices have been heard, we hope HYBE will make the wise decision to restore ADOR by the 25th."
This situation is expected to spark new discussions in the K-pop industry about the relationship between artists and their agencies, as well as the management practices of large entertainment companies.
It is particularly unusual for a globally popular group like NewJeans to directly criticize their management and make specific demands, and this is likely to cause significant ripples throughout the industry.
All eyes are on HYBE to see how they will respond and what impact this conflict will have on NewJeans’ future activities. Fans and industry insiders alike hope that the issue will be resolved amicably so that NewJeans can focus on their music once again.
